Getting in touch with an Inmate at the Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre (OCDC)

This is a correctional facility for men and women.

To leave a message for an inmate call 613-824-6080, dial 7, and leave a message with the inmate's name, your name and a phone number the inmate can reach you at. 

Visiting Hours at Ottawa-Carleton Detention Centre (OCDC)

All visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Call Monday through Friday at 613-824-6080 and dial 0 to speak with an operator in order to arrange a visit. 

You must be on the inmate's visiting list in order to book a visit. You must arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled visit. Only two people are allowed in the visit room at a time. Inmates can have two visits of 20 minutes each per week. You must have two pieces of identification to present to security, including one with a photo.

General population visits are Mon-Sun 1:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Protective custody population visits are by appointment only Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Female visits by appointment only 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m.

We May be Able to Accept a Legal Aid Certificate if You or a Family Member are in OCDC
